Sydney is the largest city in Australia and the capital of the state of New South Wales. It is located in the southeast of the country, on the coast of the Tasman Sea. Sydney is home to several universities, including Australia’s oldest University of Sydney, founded in 1850. The State Library of New South Wales, established in 1826, is the oldest in Australia.
